Biographical Info
Susan was born and raised in New York and found it necessary from an early age to develop coping mechanisms to navigate the city, especially the subway. Hers turned out to be comedy, which led her to a career as a comedic actress, first braving the world of stand up then working her way out of an imaginary box at The Groundlings in Los Angeles. It was during this time Susan had the great honor of meeting Norman Lear, who said she had the best sense of comedic timing he’d seen in a woman since Lucille Ball. Mr. Lear's words inspired Susan to create a one woman show, which ignited her love for writing. Susan's career has taken her from working with Fran Drescher on The Nanny to developing a dark comedy feature film for Tim Allen to working with John Herzfeld on the feature film 15 Minutes. On the film Susan was tasked with shadowing Robert DeNiro, Ed Burns and Kelsey Grammar, recording their ad-lib dialogue to later write scenes from the recordings. Susan had the good fortune to reteam with Fran Drescher on Happily Divorced and was recently commissioned to adapt a YA novel into a screenplay. She loves working and collaborating with women and is excited to be a member of Greenlight Women. Susan is very grateful to Marion Rosenberg for introducing her to the Daily Call Sheet at the MPTF Retirement Home. When she's not writing there's no place Susan would rather be than on the beach with her golden retriever, thinking about writing.
