PANELIST BIOS

Kim Coleman, a Los Angeles-based casting director known for her work in both film and television. She is a Governor for the Casting Director branches of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Television Academy. She is also Chair of the Equity & Inclusion Committee of the Academy. She has won two Emmys for casting  Lovecraft Country (HBO) and American Crime (ABC).  She worked on the  Oscar-winning film, BlacKkKlansman (Universal Pictures), Dear White People (Lionsgate),  Dope (Sony Pictures) and Zola 9 (Sony).  She casts all of Tyler Perry’s films and tv series, and has worked with Spike Lee.

Pam Dixon started as an intern at CBS, went on to become a senior VP of casting at ABC, VP of Production at Paramount Pix and VP of Series Development for Lorimar Television. She now has her own casting company, which was responsible for casting such films as Zorro, City Slickers,  and Baby Boom. Most recently she was responsible for casting the indie film, Blackberry.

Ferne Cassel began as a casting assistant on the Die Hard films, Coming to America, Another 48 Hours. She went on to start her own company, Ferne Cassel Casting, and her work includes National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon, Major League II, Red Shoe Diaries, Wild Orchid II, Ace Ventura, Boxing Helena and 8mm amongst many others. In 2004 she received the Casting Society of America’s Artois Award her work on the 2003 breakout film Monster .In 2006 she was nominated for the Artios Award for her work on the short film, Flatbush.
